The Vault Has Opened: The Padilla 'Old School' 50-Cigar Newspaper Wheel
Blend Details:
A very limited, craft batch of all-Torpedo-6x52, premium Nicaraguan Corojo. Grab history before it burns out.
Take a close look at that photo. Yes, that is newspaper wrapping.
This isn't just a nostalgic aesthetic choice; this is a return to an obscure, tradition-steeped manufacturing secret that Ernesto Padilla wanted to resurrect for true connoisseurs.
In the golden age of cigar making, rollers used a specific technique to ensure structural perfection. Before the final wrapper leaf was applied, the raw "bunch" (filler and binder) was tightly rolled in newspaper and left to rest.
Why? Two reasons:
1. It forces the bunch to stay in place perfectly, eliminating soft spots and draw issues before the finished product is made.
2. It creates that satisfying, audible, structuralΒ "perfect snap"Β when you hold the final cigar.
Once rested, the paper came off, and the wrapper went on. The result is a flawlessly packed smoke.
For this extremely limited craft batch, we went to our roots in Nicaragua to create an all-Toledo cabinet selection. These are 100% long-filler, premium cigars wrapped in the finest, oily Nicaraguan Corojo.
Expect a delicious, classicΒ medium-bodied profileΒ with notes of rich cedar, earth, and that signature Corojo spice.
We only made a handful of these 50-cigar wheels. They look incredible in the humidor and smoke even better.
