Blend Details:

Connecticut Broadleaf over the 1932 blend, rolled at AJ Fernández. Six trials before we signed off. Dark, oily, unapologetic. One lot only.

It took six tries.
That’s what the 32-6 means. Six blends came out of Estelí before one of them shut the room up.
The 1932 has been our flagship for two decades. Pepín built it. Five Cigar Aficionado Top 25s came off it. You do not go touching a cigar like that on a whim, and we didn’t. But a bale of Connecticut Broadleaf came across the bench — properly fermented, black and oily, the kind of leaf that’s getting harder to find every season — and the question answered itself.
So we sent it to AJ.
What came back.
The wrapper is Broadleaf in the way that word is supposed to mean: heavy tooth, oil you can see from across the table, seams that disappear. Underneath it, Nicaraguan long filler doing the work the 1932 has always done — but darker now, and slower.
It opens on cocoa and espresso with black pepper riding the retrohale. The second third turns sweet on you — molasses, dried fruit, cedar — and then it settles into leather and earth and stays there. Medium-full building to full. It rewards a slow burn and punishes a hurried one.
The red ribbon on the foot stays on until you light it. That’s not decoration. That’s how you’ll know it came from this lot.

6.5x55 Toros
One lot. No second run promised.
We buy Broadleaf when it exists, not when we want it. This is what we got. When it’s gone, the honest answer is that we don’t know when the next one is.
